Joanna Thorn is a musician that combines her love of music with her poetry.  Born in Epsom, England, to an Italian mother and English father, she showed a keen interest in music from an early age and began learning piano aged 7.  It was only recently during the lockdown of 2021 that she discovered the beauty of composing melody to poetry while reading her poem ‘When I am a Ghost’ aloud, as she felt the piano chords and melody that came to her. 

 

Jo’s musical tastes are hugely varied; from classical to punk and blues to folk; and as the keys/synth player of the band Jimmy B & The Death Rattles, she is able to express her love for rock music, a genre of which has always resided in her core.

 

Jo’s love of the English language and passion for music sets the foundation for a blossoming and exciting project, set to move, uplift and inspire both herself and others.  Always with love, always with hope, and forever with soul.
